 After experiencing a lower back injury, Wendy spent almost 20 years in and out of chiropractic care. Unfortunately, no treatment provided long-term relief, and over time, her discomfort only worsened. She started developing pain in other areas of her back, and daily living became a struggle.Wendy had always lived a very active lifestyle, and it was discouraging to give up activities she loved due to her excruciating pain. So when a friend recommended that she visit Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates (CNSA) to see what treatment they could offer, she gladly accepted.

In 2021, Jenni had been experiencing some strange symptoms: she had ice-cold feet, constant tingling, and numbness that kept getting worse. She saw several neurologists, hoping for someone to acknowledge her pain and help solve it. After two years with no luck, Jenni saw one last doctor, who finally suggested that she have an MRI – as her symptoms indicated that she could have Multiple Sclerosis, a chronic disease that affects the central nervous system. But the news she got was not what she expected. 

When Maya, an active, sporty 14-year-old, was diagnosed with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis, she did not know what to expect. No one in her family had scoliosis, and she had never heard of it. All she knew was that her debilitating pain and discomfort from her twisted body finally made sense.

Deneja's journey into radiologic technology began unexpectedly during her teenage years when she tore her ACL while playing volleyball. The experience of getting her first X-rays left a lasting impression on her, sparking a curiosity about the field that eventually led her to pursue a career as a technologist. Fast forward three years, and Deneja finds herself using her skills to provide optimal imaging while ensuring the safety and comfort of every patient she encounters.

Since high school biology, Alison Fitzgerald has held a passion for medicine. When she decided she wanted to become a physician assistant (PA), she discovered that working as a Medical Assistant (MA) would be a critical step in her journey.
