71,000-square-foot Sports Medicine and Science Center to Transform Charlotte’s Landscape into a Premier Destination for Athletes of All Levels.

Charlotte, NC- October 2024 – Taylor Capital is proud to announce the Carolina Sports Medicine Center, a groundbreaking 71,000-square-foot facility that will redefine sports-related care.

Located in the Rea Farms area of Charlotte, NC, and opening in January 2026, this innovative center will feature cutting-edge technology and diagnostics, providing both professional and amateur athletes access to the country’s most advanced medical care, rehabilitation, and performance training.

The Carolina Sports Medicine Center will be a national destination for sports medicine and science, specializing in advanced performance analytics as well as injury risk and prevention.

“Our vision with Carolina Sports Medicine Center is to integrate the highest level of sports science, diagnostics, and medicine into one comprehensive hub,” said Rob Taylor, Managing Partner of Taylor Capital and developer of the center. “By leveraging the latest innovations in sports technology, we’re ensuring that athletes – whether professionals or amateurs – can benefit from the same level of care that has historically been exclusive to professional sports teams and top-tier university programs.”

One of the nation’s largest neurosurgical private practices, Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates (CNSA), will be the anchor tenant and lease 27,500 square feet within the complex.

Architect Sports, a leader in sports rehabilitation, will lease space within the facility and operate a cutting-edge sports science lab powered by VALD Performance, the world leader in developing sports science equipment. Architect Sports’ extensive experience in delivering top-tier rehabilitation services will complement the lab’s mission, helping to reduce injury risks and enhance athletic performance through evidence-based strategies.

Additionally, the facility will be a hub for elite sports performance training under the leadership of former NBA player Tamar Slay, CEO of Slay Basketball. His program, which will include amateur and professional athletes, will further enhance the sports science focus, offering performance training grounded in the latest scientific research.

Phase two of the project will include the addition of a 20,000-square-foot medical building. This expansion, expected to be completed by the end of 2026, will further reinforce the center’s mission to be a comprehensive resource for sports medicine, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement.
