- Evaluation of individual motion impairments
- Training specific to sport or hobby-related needs
- Patient education
- Future injury prevention
"From day one, the goals of our physical therapy team have been to improve patient recovery and educate patients so they can prevent future injuries," said Graham Claytor, PT, MPT, SCS, CSCS, director of the physical therapy department at Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates. "We help patients who are recovering from injury or surgery. In many cases we provide physical therapy treatments that allow patients to avoid surgery altogether."
We offer a complete range of traditional physical therapy services, plus specialized techniques and services that are unique to our practice. These focused services include:
Dry Needling (Charlotte, Ballantyne, Concord & Matthews Offices)
This modern, science-based therapy is used to treat muscle spasms, neck pain, shoulder impingement, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, knee pain, shin splints, plantar fasciitis and low back pain.
Titleist-Certified Golf Rehab & Fitness (Charlotte, Ballantyne, Concord & Huntersville Offices)
Our Titleist-certified rehabilitation and fitness specialists work with patients to diagnose and treat golf-related injuries, improve conditioning to prevent injury, and develop a return-to-play program.
Graston Technique (Charlotte, Ballantyne & Matthews Offices)
Graston Technique® is a noninvasive therapy using specially designed instruments to identify and treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. The instruments are moved over affected muscle areas in order to break up scar tissue. Graston Technique has proven effective as a treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome, cervical sprain/strain, fibromyalgia, tennis elbow, lumbar sprain/strain, golfer's elbow, plantar fasciitis and scar tissue.
Pilates (Charlotte & Ballantyne Offices)
Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on core conditioning, body awareness, flexibility and breathing while promoting a neutral spine position. Its goal is to increase spine stability and peripheral mobility, lengthen muscles and improve posture. Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates is unique in offering the Pilates V2 Max Plus Reformer and Pilates mat classes.
McKenzie Method (Huntersville Office)
The McKenzie Method uses exercise to extend the spine and centralize the patient's pain. The ultimate goal is to teach patients how to treat themselves and manage their own pain.
Custom Foot Orthotics (Ballantyne Office)
Custom foot orthotics correct or accommodate for biomechanical or structural abnormalities within the foot and ankle. Ours are created using a non-weightbearing, neutral suspension technique.
