Jennifer Coker, MPAS, PA-C
Biography
As a part of Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates, Jennifer is an integral member of our care team, specializing in adult neurosurgical care, degenerative spinal disease, brain tumors, and spinal cord stimulation.
Jennifer Coker, MPAS, PA-C, has been providing care for neurosurgical patients for the last 13 years as a Physician Assistant. Originally from rural North Louisiana, Jennifer first learned about the role of a Physician Assistant from her small-town Primary Care Provider, who “did it all” for the entire community. Jennifer had immense respect for his knowledge and a genuine interest in his patients' well-being, including her own family. He encouraged her to apply for the local Physician Assistant Program at LSU after college, and as they say, “the rest is history.”
Since then, Jennifer has provided care at two major trauma centers before relocating to Fort Mill, SC. She strongly believes in understanding the whole patient, not just the primary complaint at hand. Jennifer has cared for patients from infants to centenarians and every phase of life in between. She has a compassionate approach to healthcare with an objective mindset and genuinely provides a tailored approach to specific patient needs.
Jennifer is a proud graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and a graduate of the Louisiana State University (LSU) Physician Assistant Program. She also holds a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska (UNMC). Jennifer is an integral part of Dr. Cheatle’s care team, providing care for patients in the operating room as well as in hospital and office settings in the Rock Hill/Fort Mill and South Charlotte/Ballantyne communities.
When she is not working, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, two daughters, and two French Bulldogs. She also serves as the current Vice President and CME Committee Member of the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (SCAPA) and is a past CME Committee Member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).
