Larysa’s journey into neurosurgery reflects a lifelong passion for intellectual rigor and fast-paced, collaborative environments. As a former All-American collegiate volleyball player, Larysa thrives in competitive settings requiring teamwork, discipline, and precision. This background seamlessly translates into the dynamics of neurosurgery, where each member of the surgical team works together to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

Originally from Bergen County, NJ, Larysa is engaged and shares a home with Hugo, her energetic German Shepherd. Outside of work, Larysa enjoys staying active through hiking and skiing and has a passion for traveling and exploring new places. A standout athlete, she holds multiple NCAA volleyball records and was recently inducted into her undergraduate hall of fame.

Looking to the future, Larysa hopes to participate in a medical mission trip abroad, particularly in Ukraine, to honor her heritage. Another goal is to train Hugo as a therapy dog to provide comfort and support to hospital patients.

Larysa believes in providing care that prioritizes empathy, understanding, and open communication with her patients. She strives to foster an environment where concerns are addressed and her patients are educated on the etiology of their condition.
