Biography
As a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in neurosurgery at Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates, Meghan Horsey provides expert care to the Charlotte community. Growing up in Charlotte, NC, Meghan Horsey found her passion for healthcare through her experiences as a patient. After multiple orthopedic injuries during her adolescence, she was cared for by physician assistants whose attentiveness and ability to explain complex medical issues left a lasting impression. Their compassionate care inspired her to pursue a career where she could provide others with the same level of understanding and support.
Meghan believes in treating the whole patient, not just their diagnosis. Her approach to care is rooted in empathy, respect, and creating personalized treatment plans that address each individual's physical, emotional, and lifestyle needs. “Putting the patient first means seeing them as a person, not just a condition,” she says. Her goal is to help patients feel supported, informed, and empowered in their healthcare journey.
"Put your health first and invest in it. Small, everyday choices—like eating healthier, moving your body, and spending time outside—can significantly improve your overall well-being."
Meghan earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from East Carolina University and her Physician Assistant degree from Pfeiffer University. She is passionate about caring for patients with a range of spinal conditions, including degenerative spine disease, spinal deformities, spinal trauma, and spinal tumors.
Meghan joined Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates after an inspiring student rotation with the team. She witnessed firsthand the innovative and comprehensive care provided by CNSA’s nationally recognized providers and knew she wanted to be part of their mission. With personal ties to CNSA—her mother, father, and late grandfather were both patients—Meghan understands the profound impact the institution can have. She credits the physicians and PAs with saving her grandfather’s life. She is proud to carry forward CNSA’s tradition of exceptional patient care.
Meghan is newly married to her husband, Colby, and they share their home with two rescue dogs, Ruger and Rhodes, who bring endless joy and personality to their lives. A lifelong runner, Meghan has been hitting the pavement since middle school and loves the freedom and simplicity of the sport. She’s also a dedicated fitness enthusiast who enjoys staying active in her free time.
A Carolina native and devoted Panthers fan, Meghan loves giving back to her community and supporting local initiatives. She is thrilled to call Charlotte home and contribute to the health and well-being of her neighbors as part of the CNSA team.
