In 2021, Jenni had been experiencing some strange symptoms: she had ice-cold feet, constant tingling, and numbness that kept getting worse. She saw several neurologists, hoping for someone to acknowledge her pain and help solve it. After two years with no luck, Jenni saw one last doctor, who finally suggested that she have an MRI – as her symptoms indicated that she could have Multiple Sclerosis, a chronic disease that affects the central nervous system. But the news she got was not what she expected. 

When Maya, an active, sporty 14-year-old, was diagnosed with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis, she did not know what to expect. No one in her family had scoliosis, and she had never heard of it. All she knew was that her debilitating pain and discomfort from her twisted body finally made sense. 

Meet Gavin, a 12-year-old brain tumor survivor who faced a brain tumor at a young age. After a challenging journey involving surgeries and rehabilitation at Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates, Gavin and his family found hope, support, and a caring community, inspiring Gavin to become a patient champion at a fundraising event for brain tumor research in September 2023.

Nick, a dad to three kids and husband to his wife, Traci, experienced back pain for years before it became intolerable. The pain ran down his leg, forcing him to walk with a limp and even making sitting in a chair very uncomfortable. 

While racing his dirt bike, Braeden experienced a devastating accident. During a competitive motocross event, his bike throttle malfunctioned mid-air, resulting in a forceful crash that fractured and dislocated his spine, resulting in immediate paralysis.
